PENFIELD CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT.  Penfield's school district consists of 6 schools; Penfield High School, Bay Trail Middle School, Cobbles Elementary, Harris Hill Elementary, Indian Landing Elementary, and Scribner Elementary.  Parent Associations are present in every building of the Penfield School District.  Through structure and guidance, teachers challenge students to learn through Investigation, Inquiry, and Reflection.  Sports and the Arts are wholly integrated into school system.  Sports, such as; swimming, soccer, volleyball, cross-country, and football are a major part of the school community. Students are given the opportunity to participate in sport programs from Intramurals through Varsity.  Music, Dance, Literary and Visual Arts, as well as Media Arts are also part of the Penfield School District's learning experience.  The Penfield Music Commission Project brings renowned guest artists, from all over the country, to work with Penfield students!    For more information;

PENFIELD RECREATION.  The town of Penfield offers community classes for children, teens, and adults in everything from cooking to swimming to yoga. The perfect opportunity to enjoy recreational time with family and friends, or to make new friends!
     How about walking, hiking, bicycling, enjoying a picnic, or canoeing?  Parks, Lodges and Trails abound in Penfield!  Spend an afternoon walking the paved trails of the Veteran's Memorial Nature and Fitness Trails, or a brisk walk through the woodland area of the Harris Whalen Park Trail. Up for something more challenging?  Try the steep hills and quiet coves of the Abraham Lincoln Park Trails.  There is even a 300' Tot Trail for the littlest hikers!

The Thousand Acre Swamp is a privately owned Nature Preserve that boasts approximately 2 miles of public trails and numerous guided walking tours.

Penfield even offers an Historic Sidewalk Trail that begins at Schaufelberger Park at the corner of Penfield Road and Five Mile Line Road.

Community Victory Garden. Volunteers began clearing the way for a community garden on a 3.3 acre of land on Five Mile Line Road, in 2009.  Today plots are available for lease to residents who are looking to grow their own organic vegetables and flowers.
